A Chester photographer has provided a unique insight into the city during the race season with a street photography project.
Ian Southerin’s gallery of photographs entitled At the Races captures racegoers and Cestrians intermingling on the city streets, enjoying street entertainment and grabbing a bite to eat.
Ian said: “I want to show people having a great time in unguarded moments.
“Street photography is all about creating images at a decisive or poignant moment that will create a response with the viewer. I want that response to be a smile.”
Ian will be in town throughout the 2016 race season quietly observing and looking for those quirky moments.
He added: “I live in Chester and my photography business, Location Photography, is also based in the city.
“The aim of the project is to show Chester and Chester Races in a positive light.
“Ultimately I would like to have an exhibition of my images in Chester, possibly at the racecourse .”
