A PERSONAL trainer from Chester has been praised for helping to change the life of a Merseyside man.

Mick Egan began training with Emma Rees in August 2009 and now, nearly one year on, Mick has lost almost four stone, losing eight inches from his abdomen.

He is very proud of his achievements, which includes the 10K Mersey Tunnel Run, which he completed in under 57 minutes.

Mick dedicated his efforts to his friend Anna Borau, who tragically took her own life in January 2007. In Anna’s memory, Mick raised £1,040 for the Samaritans.

Mick says he owes a great deal to Emma: “She gave me so much support and encouragement, especially while I trained for the Tunnel Run.

“Even when everything felt too much, Emma kept me motivated and helped me believe in myself.”

Mick still trains with Emma once a week, as he now aims to complete the Liverpool Half Marathon in March 2011.
