CHESTER Performs has announced a series of free lunchtime talks as part of its programme for Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.

Twelfth Night and new play Masters Are You Mad? are being performed in the picnic theatre until August 19.

With a cast of 14 and some celebrated creative talent, organiser Chester Performs is offering an opportunity for audiences to join the cast and crew for informal picnic discussions.

Artistic director Alex Clifton will give a talk on the project and his journey through directing Shakespearean comedy Twelfth Night. Audiences are invited to take their lunch to the informal talk on Thursday, August 2.

On Thursday, July 26, Olivier Award-winning director Robin Norton Hale will discuss her experience of staging new play Masters Are You Mad?.

Multi-award-winning poet and dramatist Glyn Maxwell, returning to the project for a second year, will discuss script writing and sign copies of the script for Masters Are You Mad?, recently published by Oberon.

Finally, there is a rare opportunity to meet the entire cast. The actors are inviting audience members to take their lunch and picnic with them, while they describe their experience of being part of the venture.

Alex said: “We’ve had really over-whelming support for the project over the last three years, and feel sharing some of our experiences with the audience celebrates that.”

Audiences can also take a tour backstage, led by crew members.

To book on to the free talks and tours, all taking place at the theatre from 1-2pm, telephone Chester Performs on 01244 409 113 or email anna@chesterperforms.com.
