DETAILED plans of a proposed performing arts centre are now available for viewing on the internet.

Performers and members of the public are invited to visit the website of Chester Performs – www.chesterperforms.com – the organisation responsible for the development of the replacement for the Gateway Theatre.

There had been speculation the centre, due to open in 2011, may be in jeopardy due to problems financing the Northgate Development as city council bosses renegotiate with developers ING to make the project viable.

But The Chronicle understands latest thinking is for the performing arts centre to go ahead in its current form, providing the Northgate scheme gets the green light.
