ST MARY'S Nursery School in Handbridge, Chester, is holding its annual Open Day this Saturday (April 27), between 10am and noon.

Rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for a second time last year, St Mary's on Old Wrexham Road, is Cheshire West and Chester Council's only nursery school, offering funded places for three- to four-year-olds.

St Mary's enables children to learn in an environment where they are safe, valued and confident.

Council governors Cllr Tom Parry and Cllr Alex Tate are supporting the Open Day and are encouraging families to visit.

Cllr Parry said: "St Mary's is an outstanding school as two Ofsted inspections - not to mention many children and parents - testify.

“I encourage all parents considering a nursery school for their child or children to visit us on Saturday.”

Cllr Tate commented: As a governor, I have seen the stimulating and exciting environment first hand - this encourages the children to enjoy school as well as appreciating and respecting each other which is so important as part of their development.”

Cllr Parry added: "Perhaps most importantly, St Mary's is not just a nursery but a nursery school and one where learning really is fun.
