STAFF at Chester Cathedral are offering the chance to buy someone a Christmas gift with a touch of mystery.

Admissions and box office staff are selling gift vouchers for next year’s production of Chester Mystery Plays.

The gift vouchers are available in multiples of £5 and can be redeemed for tickets for any performance from June 26 – July 13 2013. Ticket prices range from £12 to £25.

The voucher idea was the brainchild of volunteer Sue Benson.

Chairman of the Chester Mystery Plays Jo Sykes said: “We have a huge team of volunteers helping out with all aspects of the plays, from backstage to box office, and it is great to be able to put such a good idea into practice.

“The gift vouchers will make an excellent Christmas present as the recipient can be assured of a truly unforgettable theatrical experience next summer.”

The production, directed by Peter Leslie Wild, will be performed by a large community cast in the nave of Chester Cathedral for the first time in the history of the medieval plays.

The vouchers are available from Chester Cathedral box office in person, by telephoning 01244 500959 or online from www.chestermysteryplays.com.
