CESTRIAN centenarian Dorothy Spruce has been honoured by the Masons.

Dorothy, née Cuthbert, reached the grand age of 100 on December 23.

Carl Wild, Master of Clarence Lodge in Christleton, presented Dorothy with a cheque for £100 at her home at Waterside View.

Her husband Cyril was a member of the lodge.

Dorothy was born in Goss Street, Chester, and was educated at Hunter Street school.

She worked in the old Chester market as a cashier for Dodd’s the butchers before marrying Cyril.

She has four children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
