The Chester Lions have made a donation to a local junior football club to help fund new kit for their upcoming tournament in the Emerald Isle.

After a successful football tour to the Easter Cup in Holland two years ago as under 9’s at the time, the same Saughall Colts team – who have been together since they were six years old have entered in Ireland’s largest football tournament called the Dublin Cup.

Attracting teams from Germany, Italy, Scotland, England and Ireland, the Dublin Cup has been running for 13 years and has some of the top European teams on show.

The Colts will be flying out from Liverpool airport on Friday, July 31 for a day of relaxation followed by two days of competitive matches.

Saughall Colts u11s will play in Ireland's largest football tournament, the Dublin Cup at the start of August

The players and parents have worked tirelessly over the last 18 months to raise the funds to allow the players to enter by doing supermarket bag packs, sponsored walks and company sponsorship but very much appreciate the kind donation from the Chester Lions of the Irish-green tournament tracksuits.

As the club has expanded there are now opportunities for new players to join when training resumes in August. If there are any budding footballers in any of the age group from 5-16 out there please call Neil Howell on 01244 880501 or email Neil.Howell@baml.com for details.
