A CLEAR November sky was lit up on Saturday night with a spectacular fireworks display at Chester Racecourse.
Crowds flocked to the annual Chester Lions Club event which was launched by Lord Mayor of Chester Councillor John Ebo.
The fun began at 5.30pm with entertainment from Dee 106.3 FM, The Speakers band, Chester Jets’ cheerleaders, The Jetettes and a funfair for the youngsters.
Lion Graham Reilly said: “We wouldn’t have an event without the public and we are grateful to all who supported it.
“The weather was on our side and it was a big success. We would like to thank all our sponsors and the Chester Race Company for the venue.”
Sponsors included The Chronicle, Dee 106.3 and Visulite.
Tots enjoyed a short display of children’s fireworks before the main display at 7.30pm which was enjoyed by a capacity crowd inside the racecourse and onlookers who had lined the City Walls for the best vantage point.
The event raised thousands of pounds for the Lions Club Charitable Trust and will be distributed to local charities.
