DOUBLETREE by Hilton Chester is providing the local economy with a further 35 new jobs with the launch of its exclusive spa this autumn.

The luxury hotel’s 85 strong workforce is set to grow even further as it offers a range of new positions from service staff to executive management.

The hotel is also currently seeking to expand its events department as a result of a significant growth in wedding venue enquiries.

Last week website caterersearch.com reported that “hoteliers faced a tough 2009” yet Doubletree by Hilton Chester is defying the odds. It has reported a 22 percent rise in advance bookings in the last two months and a 48 percent rise in sales.

General Manager for the hotel Tony Wright said:Š “People thought launching a luxury hotel in the current economic climate was a brave move, yet we are proving it was a great move, not just for Doubletree but for the city of Chester too.

“It’s great to have a positive story to share. We’ve had a fantastic Easter and are seeing a significant rise in advance bookings and wedding enquiries. We’re certainly not feeling the effects of the crunch and are delighted to have created so many jobs for the area.”

In addition to the 120 plus full time jobs the hotel will provide, the £27.5 million redevelopment project has provided work for over a hundred different builders and allied tradesmen including grounds men, plasterers and electricians.

The new spa opens this November and is set to raise the benchmark for spa excellence in the North West and will make the hotel an even more popular destination.

The hotel is located on Warrington Road, Hoole, Chester CH2 3PD. For further information, telephone Doubletree by Hilton, Chester on 01244 408 800 or visit www.hilton.co.uk/chester.
