A YOUNGSTER from Chester is hoping the sun will carry on shining as she continues a week of outdoor activity with her dog at the Young Kennel Club national training camp.
Victoria Ruscoe, 12, who lives in Stoak, was awarded a place at the camp after winning the Shaun McAlpine Award, an accolade awarded to young people who embrace canine activities and has been a member of the Wirral Alsatian Training Society for many years and trains her own three dogs as well as her auntie’s collie.
She said: “I would like to meet new people, learn new skills and generally have fun with my dogs.”
The camp, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, is a fun-packed week for youngsters and their dogs to make new friends, develop their training skills and enjoy a busy social programme.
Training on offer at the camp covers most canine interests including dog handling, agility, obedience, heel work to music and the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme, which is the largest dog training programme in the UK.
