Staff from the Chester office of Strutt & Parker cycled 400 mile relay last Friday for Cancer Research UK – by staying in one place!

Split into four teams of five staff members per group, the relay took part on four Wattbikes (organised for them on the day by the Nuffield Gym Chester) set up outside their shop windows. As the Tour de France was cycling Stage 13 on the same day, the rule was any rider taking a shift on the relay must be wearing French fancy dress.

Each bike had to achieve a minimum of 100 miles – with 25 miles being covered before 9am.

The 400 mile route is the circumference of the area that their office covers.

Staff members of Strutt & Parker recently cycled 400 miles on the spot in aid of Cancer Research UK

Hoping to raise £2,500, the Chester Strutt & Parker team (along with their colleagues in Shrewsbury, who were also doing the challenge on the same day) have raised almost £6,000 already.

The inspiration for the event is Strutt & Parker colleague Ben Winson. He is about to undergo his last session of chemo and is hoping to be back at work in the next month. His journey through the treatments, with his wife and young daughter at his side, has been long and tough.

The teams in both Strutt & Parker offices pulled together in an amazing way and friends, family, suppliers, colleagues and clients have all donated incredible sums to the cause. To find out more about Cancer Research UK visit www.cancerresearchuk.org or call 0300 123 1861.
