A CHESTER father and son took the bus to Blackpool and back to raise funds for two worthy causes.
Pete Brocklehurst and his father John were joined by Pete's partner Ruth Hickson to complete a marathon 15 hour sponsored bus journey from Chester to Blackpool and back again to raise funds for Dementia UK and Chester Boxing Club.
The journey began at Chester Bus Station at 7.21am and was completed by 10pm on arrival back at the station. Arriva, First and Stagecoach kindly provided the tickets for the mission.
Petes father John, 76, was diagnosed with dementia in June 2009 and as well as raising funds for the cause the trip was to raise awareness of the condition which affects so many people.
