CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue service investigators say they have not been able to establish the cause of the fire at the Chester Enterprise Centre, but all the evidence indicates it was accidental.

The fire ripped through the centre which was home to around 50 businesses on the morning of Thursday December 3.

The fire completely destroyed the first floor of the building, and left the rest severely damaged.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue service spokeswoman Sian Corrigan said: “Investigators have carried out extensive inquiries including using a specially-trained fire investigation dog, reviewing witness statements and a thorough examination of the area where the fire started.

Mark Abram, the Service’s Head of Community Fire Protection said: “While we have been able to rule out a lot of potential causes, the intensity of the blaze means that we cannot pinpoint the exact cause other than to say that it was accidental.”
