It's election results night in Cheshire and The Chronicle will be guiding you through the main events as and when they happen.

Keep a close watch on our website as we bring you updates throughout the night on how the counts are going in the borough.

David Holmes is at the Northgate Arena where the City of Chester candidates and their supporters have gathered to await the result in what is regarded as a key marginal seat currently held by Conservative Stephen Mosley.

Frances Barrett is at the Memorial Court in Northwich for the Weaver Vale count in an even more marginal seat where Conservative Graham Evans is defending a slim 991 majority in a constituency he won from Labour in 2010.

Carmella De Lucia is at the Winsford Lifestyle Centre to monitor what happens in the traditionally safe Conservative seat of Eddisbury although long-term Tory MP Stephen O'Brien is stepping down so there will be a new face in Parliament whatever happens tonight.

David Norbury faces a similar situation at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall but this time in the usually safe Labour seat of Ellesmere Port and Neston. Here it is the veteran Labour MP Andrew Miller who has decided to step down.

Barry Ellams and Belinda Ryan are at Shavington Leisure Centre to cover the counts for Crewe & Nantwich and Congleton where incumbent Tory MPs Edward Timpson and Fiona Bruce respectively are hoping to retain their seats.
