A MARKET stall has scooped £1,000 funding for being such a bright idea.

Natalie Pierce-Jones, 23, runs a boutique clothes, bags and accessories stall in Chester Market.

Natalie won the Grand Ideas Award after making the top eight entrants on Shell LiveWIRE's website.

She was selected by a panel of judges to be worthy of the £1,000 funding.

The monthly awards are designed to give aspiring young entrepreneurs a no-strings-attached financial boost of £1,000 to help them get their business ideas off the ground.

Entrepreneurs from all over the UK submit their entries through the LiveWIRE website.

Natalie says she will invest the money in a new shed which she will transform into a workshop to make her products.

She added: “Mum is looking forward to getting her dining table back! It's covered in sewing machines all the time.

“I’m in the dining room and kitchen so mum really wants me out the house. I’ll spend the rest of the money on charity fashion shows with people modelling my designs.

“I’ve no idea what they liked about the business in particular.”

Natalie says her business has been a hit all over the world, with her website www.fairypants.com pulling in more sales than the stall.

“It’s really hit off on the internet,” she added.

“I’m sending clothes to America, Spain and even Estonia.”

Natalie has now entered Shell LiveWIRE's Young Entrepeneur of the Year Award, which could see her win a further £10,000 of investment.

If she wins through to the final of that competition, she faces presenting a business plan to Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne.

“He would probably make me cry,” joked Natalie.
