A CHESTER dentist is putting his best foot forward to raise funds for wounded soldiers.

Dr Ray McNamara plans to walk the equivalent of a marathon around Chester’s City Walls for his chosen charity, Help for Heroes.

He said: “The Royal Welsh have just got back from Helmand province and many of them were injured.

“A lot of our patients come from Dale Barracks and we thought it would be appropriate to support them.”

Ray is already planning long walks in preparation for his marathon attempt at 14 laps of the walls, which will take place on Saturday June 12.

He will be joined by a number of volunteers from his Northgate Dental Health practice, including dental nurses Kelly Lunt and Virginia Milanova who will be dressed as tooth fairies.

The event coincides with the end of National Smile Month 2010 and youngsters are invited to take part in a workshop on the day of the walk at the practice to educate them about oral health in a fun way.

Ray and his team will be collecting money during the walk or you can donate to Help for Heroes at the Northgate Dental Health, 2-4 Upper Northgate Street, Chester.
