Four intrepid explorers from a Chester based online cooker specialist are celebrating after completing the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge and raising £1,800 for three local charities.

The team from Rangecookers.co.uk – marketing manager Carl Elston, finance director Fin O’Leary and Nikki Girvan from the brand’s PR and social media team at de Winter PR – tackled snow, humidity and heavy rain to conquer Britain’s three highest mountains: Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales in 23 hours and 1 minute.

Director Andrew Longfield played the team’s hidden hero as designated driver between peaks.

The team dedicated each peak to a different charity with Snowdon for The North West Air Ambulance Service, Ben Nevis for Claire House Hospice and Scafell Pike for The West Cheshire Foodbank.

Carl Elston said: “This challenge pushed our team to its absolute limits. Even with lots of training and the world’s biggest stack of Kendal Mint Cake, taking on the UK’s three highest mountains in just 24 hours was no mean feat.

“There were some tough moments, particularly while being feasted on by midges at 3am in pitch black and pouring rain on Scafell Pike, with another mountain-and- a-half still left to go.

“However, fuelled by Haribo Tangfastics and the determination to raise funds and awareness for our three fantastic nominated charities, we cracked on and managed to complete the challenge with 59 minutes to spare.”
