A city hotelier has been awarded the title of Industry Titan in a publication’s inaugural Power List.

Jonathan Slater, who operates Oddfellows Hotels, was given the accolade in the Boutique Hotelier.

The boutique hotel group, which has a site on Lower Bridge Street in Chester, is set to open its second site, Oddfellows On The Park, in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, later this year.

Jonathan was previously the managing director at The Chester Grosvenor for more than 30 years.

Boutique Hotelier editor Zoe Monk said of the Industry Titan list: “It celebrates those leading lights who add a huge amount of value to the hotel industry and help to raise its profile. They are the real innovators and powerful beacons driving the independent hotel sector forward.”

She added: “We chose Jonathan as he has been instrumental in putting the North West tourism market on the map, not only through his work at The Chester Grosvenor but also through Marketing Cheshire. He is now breaking the mould of the traditional boutique hotel model in the region, with the huge success of the Oddfellows brand. He is a true ambassador for the industry and a hospitality champion in the eyes of our Power List.”

Jonathan said:”It is extremely rewarding to be nominated to join the Industry Titans on the Boutique Hotelier’s Power List, not least because of the company of those I sit beside, but also because it reinforces that our approach with Oddfellows Hotels isrelevant to the market and indeed, important to the industry.”
