The high street giant intends to hire for 69 seasonal positions at its Foregate Street branch and for 146 at Cheshire Oaks.
Available roles include customer assistants, visual stylists, switchboard assistants and M&S Café chefs.
'Enthusiastic, hard-working individuals' who are keen to deliver quality customer service are what M&S is looking for, says retail director Sacha Berendji.
Previous experience of working in retail is 'desirable' but not essential, and all new employees will receive induction training.
Chester store manager Laura Hockenhull added: “Christmas is our busiest time of year so we’re pleased to be recruiting seasonal colleagues for our stores across Merseyside.
"Our seasonal team are always given a warm welcome and are valued for their contribution.
"Every year some of the team join us permanently, and some return Christmas after Christmas!”
