IT MAY only be September, but local charities are calling on Chronicle readers to get into the Christmas spirit and sign up for this year’s Santa Dash.
The festive event, sponsored by M&S Money, will see hundreds of red-suited Santas take to the streets of Chester on Sunday, December 11.
Organisers hope the race will raise thousands for the Child Bereavement Service at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and the Countess of Chester Hospital’s Children’s Unit.
Jeni Underhill, community relations manager at M&S Money, said: “We are delighted to support the Santa Dash. It’s set to be a great event and is sure to get the family in the Christmas spirit while raising funds for two fantastic charities.”
The 4km course will start at Castle Drive and take dashers through the city centre, under the Eastgate Street Clock and along the Groves. Participants can run or walk – and are even invited to bring their dogs.
Registration costs £10 and includes a Santa suit for adults and reindeer antlers for children.
Santas who raise £50 or more will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a shopping and entertainment package worth £500.
