A CHESTER car firm steered a bride from disaster less than a week before her big day.

Four days before Alyson Hockridge’s wedding to Colin Jones she received a phone call to say that the limousine she had booked had been involved in a crash.

Alyson, who used to work for The Chronicle, said: “We had booked our limo with Go Limos on Liverpool Road. Within hours of the bad news we had an email from Sue at City Limos offering us a black limo at no extra cost.

“I never imagined arriving at my wedding in a black limo so we declined her offer. She then spent the next day trying to find us a white one. She found one in Formby and Go Limos covered the extra cost.”

The couple got married at Chester Register Office and were taken there in style in the white limo.

Alyson added: “What a city we live in and how proud I am.”

Alyson’s wedding was truly home-grown. She had her hair done by Chris from Vanity Fayre in Hoole and Krystal from Snapdragon did her flowers. The pair enjoyed a reception at Chez Jules in Northgate Street.

Alyson added: “The people of Chester were lovely. We felt so special.”
