A businessman from Chester has been named in the top 100 most influential entrepreneurs in the UK.

Chris Percival, 24, who founded Jigsaw Medical Services, placed 32nd meaning he was also the highest newcomer on the rankings put together by RichTopia.

Richard Branson topped the list, followed by Victoria Beckham and Alan Sugar.

Based at their head office in Tarporley, Jigsaw has grown to become one of the country’s leading medical providers.

Chris said: “People like Richard Branson, Lord Sugar and Duncan Bannatyne are heroes of mine and to be in a list with them is truly an honour.”

“I can’t take all the credit myself though. As an owner of a company I am only as good as the people around me and therefore I have to thank all members of our team.

“They all work tirelessly around the clock to ensure we are the most reliable, efficient and innovative medical company in the industry.”

“2015 was an incredible year and 2016 is set to be even bigger and better, with so many new opportunities planned.”

Chris featured in the Chronicle’s A Day in the Life segment in November and said he loved his job because ‘no two days are the same’.

A paramedic himself, the 24-year-old set up Jigsaw in his bedroom at university in 2012.

But such has been the rapid growth, in the last six months of 2015 the company could add another 30 ambulances and eight response vehicles to their fleet.

After his own success, Chris also works as a mentor to aspiring business owners through Virgin Startup.

Placing lower down on the list are famous faces such as Levi Roots, former Dragon’s Den star Hilary Devey and a number of previous winners of The Apprentice.
