AFTER just under a year in business a Chester bridal shop has secured a top wedding brand concession.

Wendy Grove who owns Boda Bridal, on Watergate Street Row only opened her shop in May last year and has already secured the top wedding brand Confetti as a concession.

She said: “When I set up I wanted to create a one stop shop for weddings. So we not only have the wedding dresses, but the invitations, the favours, the table and room decorations and gifts for the hen and stag nights.

She added: “We are the only shop like this in the North West .”

Wendy whose background is in fashion design decided to set up her shop after she was made redundant from two jobs in quick succession.

She said: “I originally thought I would set it up as an online business, but realised there was just so many online wedding shops that it wouldn’t work.”

Wendy recruited the help of business start up company Blue Orchid, to help her in the right direction.

She said: “ They helped me write my business plans for the bank , and made me look at aspects of my business I hadn’t thought about before.”

Now just a year on she has just secured the Confetti concession and will have top wedding dress designer Vera Wang’s products in her shop.

Wendy said : “We have some very individual dresses and cater for all size of bride, we also have some beautiful wedding products here and the Confetti range has added to this.”

Wendy’s Boda Bridal website has also grown and was named a finalist in the Bridal Buyer Awards.

She said: “We were very pleased that our website was recognised in this way.”
