The ongoing induction programme for Year 7 at Bishops’ High School in Chester led to an outdoor pursuits residential experience in Shropshire.

Students took part in a wide range of activities including raft-building, open water canoeing, abseiling, archery, challenge course and zip wire.

These activities enabled students to develop their friendships and get to know staff as well as taking on new challenges, conquer fears and work as teams.

Chaplain Paul North accompanied the visit and led worship sessions each evening before the students participated in It’s a Knockout, Thirty Second Theatre and quizzes.

One of the students said: “My best memory was at the zip wire. I was so scared, but my friends and staff cheered me on and after a lot of hesitation, I did it! It was so fun!”
