A CHESTER-BASED charitable scheme is returning for its third year.

The Big Sunflower Project for Centronuclear and Myotubular Myopathy will once again see sunflower seeds given away to anyone in the Uk and Europe willing to take part.

The project is headed up by Toni Abram, who has a rare, inherited neuromuscular disease that causes low muscle tone and affects people of all ages throughout their various stages in life.

It is hoped the project will educate people about centronuclear and myotubular myopathy, as well as being a bit of fun.

People and schools, youth groups, churches and community groups are being urged to get on board and share the seeds with family, friends and neighbours, to help raise as much awareness as possible.

All that is asked in return, is that people send photos of their sunflowers, so they can be included in the project’s Flickr photo gallery.

Packet Seeds and Thompson and Morgan have donated sunflower seeds as well as some vegetable seeds.

Asda have also recently donated £25 to the Information Point as part of their ‘Chosen by You, Given by Us’ initiative,

Further information will be added on the group’s website at centronuclear.org.uk when distribution starts. To find out more, email centronuclear.org@btinternet.com
