THE brother of reality TV show winner Luke Anderson says he is ‘over the moon’ at his success.

Bryn Anderson, 28, who works for Lloyds banking group in Chester, was at the live final of Big Brother on Monday evening, when Luke left the house after 70 days and scooped the £50,000 prize money.

And Bryn said he is ‘so proud’ of the 31-year-old, who was born a female named Laura but underwent sex-change surgery four years ago.

He told the Chronicle: “We are just over the moon, we can’t believe he has managed to get as far as he did. It’s a dream come true. We are so proud of him.

“It was absolutely buzzing when we got there, there were so many banners for him. The cheers for Luke were just unbelievable.”

He said the family will probably have some sort of celebration once Luke returns home to Mynydd Isa, near Mold, Flintshire, this evening with wife Becki.

“For Luke the money was not the reason he went into the show,” said Bryn.

“He wanted people to accept him and he wanted to show the world that being a transgender person is normal and he has proven it. The money is just a bonus.”

Luke’s prize winnings will allow him to undergo further surgery and will provide a deposit for him and Becki, who also celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Monday, to buy their first house.

He has also given £5,000 to his ‘best mate’ in the house, runner-up Adam Kelly, after the pair struck a deal during the show.

Luke, a chef at the Beaufort Park Hotel in New Brighton, near Mold, said: “Never once did I think I was going to win at all. Words cannot describe how I feel. It was like winning the Lottery times 100 million.”
