TWO city-based artists are opening their studios to the public over a coming weekend.

Jo Jenkins, a retired Upton High School art teacher and Amanda Latham, an art teacher at The Queen’s School, are throwing open the doors of their studios over the weekend of September 18 and 19.

Their paintings cover the range of abstract, townscape, botanical, seascape and landscape offering something to suit all tastes.

Jo said: “My paintings are a response to places I have visited and images I remember, whether it be from walking in the Lake District, the Himalayas or New Zealand. I am always affected by the sense of space and openness, but also often by man’s imprint upon the landscape and by his need to organise it.”

Jo’s studio is at 100 St James Ave, Upton, Chester, CH2 1NL, while Amanda’s studio is at 47 Woodlands Drive, Hoole, Chester, CH2 3QQ.
