CHESHIRE West and Chester Council has swept the board in local awards from an online mums organisation for the best places to take their children.

The gold winner was Chester’s Sandy Lane Aqua Park, Chester’s Blacon Adventure Playground received silver and Frodsham’s Castle Park was awarded bronze.

Netmums.com offers help and support to mums across the country and the council won the three awards in the West Cheshire and Mid Cheshire sections.

Councillor Stuart Parker, executive member for culture and recreation, said: “All three awards are very special because they received votes from the people who use them.

“I am proud to accept these certificates and it is pleasing that the three have been highlighted by mums and visited by hundreds of children.”

Beth Whitehead from Netmums said: “West Cheshire’s and Mid Cheshire’s favourites include Chester’s Sandy Lane Aqua Park, Blacon Adventure Play Ground and Frodsham’s Castle Park.

“These are really popular places for parents to take their children that don’t cost anything to go to, which is always very important as entertaining children can be very expensive.”
