Chester Air Cadets welcomed their first female officer to the squadron.
Former cadet 23-year-old Lauren Ellis passed out of RAF College Cranwell with flying colours to join the squadron staff.
Lauren, now a pilot officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve Training Branch, said: “Being a cadet gave me such amazing experiences that I wanted to put something back. Cranwell was hard work, but worth it.
“I did everything as a cadet - flying, gliding, shooting, adventure training, Duke of Edinburgh - but the highlight was marching down The Mall to Buckingham Palace with the Red Arrows flying overhead and meeting Prince Charles.”
The 610 (City of Chester) Squadron has a recruit information evening on Tuesday, September 22.
