FUEL costs for residents are being cut this winter due to Chester & District Housing Trust’s ongoing commitment to energy efficiency.
CDHT is working with the Energy Saving Trust to improve the energy efficiency of its housing stock and save residents money on their fuel bills over the winter.
The Energy Saving Trust’s Home Energy Check tool will be used as part of an energy audit of each property. Each resident will receive a free Home Energy Report and energy saving tips to help cut heating costs.
Steve Lang, manager of the Energy Saving Trust advice centre Merseyside and Cheshire, said: "The average household could reduce its energy bills by £300 a year by taking some simple measures to improve energy efficiency. "
An energy efficiency officer is also being recruited at CDHT who will be available to offer energy saving advice.
The Energy Saving Trust is offering free Home Energy Checks to all Cheshire residents. Log on to www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/check to complete it online or call the Energy Saving Trust advice centre on 0800 512 012.
