A LOCAL NHS trust has received national accreditation status from The Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s (CWP) Rosewood intensive rehabilitation unit at Bowmere Hospital, Chester – which serves adults with severe and enduring mental health issues with complex needs – received an Accreditation for Inpatient Mental Health Services (AIMS).
AIMS is a standards-based accreditation programme designed to improve the quality of care in inpatient mental health wards.
Dave Appleton, CWP Rosewood ward manager, said: “I am proud of the hard work the team puts into the care of service users admitted to Rosewood Unit and successful completion of the AIMS accreditation programme confirms the high standards of intervention and care the staff provide on a daily basis.”
Dr Ian Davidson, consultant psychiatrist at CWP, said: “This accreditation, following closely after the presentation of the success of Rosewood to The European Care Pathways conference in Amsterdam (Rosewood Recovery: Improving Quality and Saving Money), confirms that innovation in practice from a highly skilled team delivers positive sustainable results.”
