IF OUR MPs had to rely on their physical attractiveness alone to get re-elected then they might struggle.

That’s because none across the district has excelled in an online beauty contest of all MPs in which the public can pick which MP they find most fanciable out of two randomly selected pictures.

The score is then calculated for each MP’s individual tally while the user picks from the next pair.

The website ranks all 648 sitting MPs – 506 men and 142 women – and rankings can change at any time.

At time of going to press, Eddisbury’s Conservative MP Stephen O’Brien was ranked as the most attractive MP in the area at 348, while fellow Tory MP Graham Evans, representing Weaver Vale, followed closely behind at 353, with Chester’s Tory MP Stephen Mosley trailing at 498. Ellesmere Port Labour MP Andrew Miller was ranked at 598.

The top 10 on the list were mostly dominated by the new 2010 intake of MPs.

Chris Kelly, Tory MP for Dudley South, was top of the men’s list and Liverpool Wavertree Labour MP Luciana Berger was top of the women’s list.

David Cameron was ranked 87 out of all male MPs, outshining Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who came in at 98 – both leaving Labour leader Ed Miliband in their wake at 217.

The creator of the Sexy MP site, Francis Boulle, said: “In addition to my wanting to create a fun and memorable tool to help the British public get to know their Members of Parliament, I thought it would be an interesting opportunity to hold the first ever parliamentary beauty contest and find out once and for all which MPs and parties have the most sex appeal.

“Although I fully expect to offend some people, this was never my intention and I hope MPs will see the funny side.”
