Schemes have been drawn up for highway improvements at a number of locations in Frodsham.

On School Lane, it is proposed to resurface a 124m length of the road between Hillside Road and Church Road at an estimated cost of £12,320.

Engineers describe the condition of the surface as “poor”.

Carriageway resurfacing is also planned on a 439m length of Hillside Road between Bellemonte Road and Manley Road at an estimated cost of £37,237.

The situation there is that existing slurry sealing has failed.

Damage to a 199m length of the footway on Churchfield Road caused by overriding vehicles is estimated to cost £14,400 to repair.

Engineers say the work would include the reconstruction of the footway and verge hardening between St Lawrence Road and Froda Avenue.

It is also proposed to reconstruct the footway on Froda Avenue from the junction with Churchfield Road at a cost of £10,800.

Engineers say they are concerned about the condition of the kerbs and damage to the surface of the footway.

The schemes are due to be carried out during 2009/10, according to a report to the borough council's highways and transportation committee.
