A VILLAGE initiative aims to see investment in projects.

It has been launched by Saughall and Shotwick Park Parish Council in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Leader of the ‘Community Investment Champions’ parish councillor Kathy Ford said: “A community investment champion is a business or an individual who invests their time or invests financially in the village.

“This investment will be ploughed into worthwhile village projects and groups in exchange for free advertising in the village.”

She added:“A community investment champion is not just about giving money, peoples’ time can sometimes have a greater value than money in what it can achieve.”

Cllr Jenny Young, parish council chairman, said: “In Saughall and nearby areas we are very lucky to have a broad range of people with some exceptional talents. Š

“Applying all these skills would create a stronger, more positive and confident community.”

Council leader Mike Jones, who is giving his full backing to the project, said: “I believe this type of initiative is the right way to build a stronger and more cohesive community.”
