Almost 3000 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts from Cheshire have set a new world record – for wobble board playing!

The mass 'wobbling’ took place at Cheshire’s Chamboree 2010 International camp yesterday at the start of a week-long programme of activities and events.

In total 2,811 wobble boards were played along to Rolf Harris’s Tie Me Kangaroo Down as the previous record of 666 participants was shattered.

The event was filmed and photographed to provide the documentary evidence for Guinness World Records.

The camp, being held at Tabley, has seen Cheshire’s Scouts joined by Troops from the USA, Ireland, Kenya, Norway, Sierra Leone, Germany and Denmark.

Activities at the camp include traditional Scouting skills plus zones teaching everything from BMXing to Trash Art.
