SIX Cheshire school chefs, including one from Upton High School in Chester, are taking part in this year’s competition to find the best in the county.

On November 4 they will all be cooking a main meal and sweet which will be judged by a panel.

The judges include two children from Vine Tree Primary School, a dietician from Leighton Hospital and a chef from South Cheshire College in Crewe where the contest will take place. The contest gets underway at 10.30am.

The six taking part are:

? Fiona Richman from The Dingle Primary School, Crewe

? Claire Duffield from The Marlborough Primary School, Tytherington, Macclesfield

? Sasha Reilly, East Cheshire Primaries Mobile Catering Supervisor

? Geraldine Dudley from Moulton Primary School, Moulton, Northwich

? Marie Witton, Upton-by-Chester High School. Chester.

County council chairman Steve Wilkinson, who will be attending the competition, said: “Standards are extremely high across the School Meal Service so I know that on November 4 we are in for a treat.

“We will be looking for originality and excellent value for money.

“I am sure that it will be a hard task to choose the winner.”
