Cheshire Police sergeant from Helsby nominated for award

A PASSIONATE community police officer from Helsby was nominated for a lifetime achievement award at a ceremony in London.

Sgt Andy Delooze, 49, of Cheshire Constabulary’s Runcorn neighbourhood policing unit – who lives in Helsby with his wife Jean and 15-year-old son – was shortlisted alongside 27 officers from across the UK at the Jane’s Police Review 2010 Gala Awards.

“I enjoy having day-to-day contact with the community,” said Andy.

“I treat people as you’d expect your family and yourself to be treated.

“I feel privileged to have become a police officer and wouldn’t change any of it.

“I am still loving it.”
