PC Richard Jordan, 35, has been suspended by the constabulary after being found guilty of assault and may also lose his job.
He was found guilty of the taser attack as he used excessive force while arresting Shaun Bebbington, 29, at an address in Cuddington on April 26, 2015.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “Now that court proceedings have concluded, PC Jordan has been suspended and internal disciplinary procedures are being considered.”
PC Jordan was charged with common assault by beating following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
The 35-year-old had pleaded not guilty to the offence, but was convicted on March 30 after a two-day trial at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
PC Jordan will be sentenced on April 26, a year to the day since he committed the offence.
The IPCC added it will discuss potential disciplinary matters with Cheshire Police.
