CYCLISTS in Cuddington and Sandiway can stay safe and keep their bicycles secure thanks to free equipment from Cheshire Constabulary.

PCSO James McLoughlin will be giving away 25 bicycle lights and 25 locks to residents of both areas at Sandiway Library on Mere Lane on Saturday, May 2.

The locks and lights will be given out on a first come first served basis between 10am-1pm. Only one lock or light will be distributed per person.

PCSO McLaughlin said: “As the weather gets better, people get out and about on their bicycles more. We want to make sure they’re safe by ensuring lights are fitted to the bikes.

“We also want to help prevent any possible thefts by providing locks to cyclists. I would encourage everyone to lock their bikes when leaving them unattended, even if you are only popping into a shop for a couple of minutes.

It doesn’t take long for a thief to take a bike. Just locking your bike up makes life much harder for thieves.”
