CHESHIRE police are continuing their efforts to trace and identify a man they want to speak to about two suspicious incidents in the Neston area last month.

The first took place in Raby Park Road shortly before 5.30pm on August 8 when a man driving a red two-door sports car stopped and asked a girl if she wanted a lift, telling her he knew her mother.

She declined the lift and made her way home. No attempt was made to force her into the car.

The second incident involved a woman walking along Liverpool Road on the same afternoon when a red sports car once again pulled up alongside her.

The man asked her to get in the car and when she refused he asked her for directions. He then drove off towards the town centre.

On both occasions the driver was described as a black male aged about 30-years-old.

There had been further suspicious incidents reported later in the month involving a red Ford KA car.

Police say they have spoken with the driver of the Ford KA and are satisfied that no offences have been committed in relation to the suspicious incidents and are not linked to the man in the red sports car.

PC Mike Lockett said: “This type of behaviour is of concern to us and is obviously worrying to the community.

“We have been patrolling the area to provide reassurance and are working tirelessly to identify the car and trace the man.

“If you have any information that could help us to locate the male in the red sports car from 8 August 2012, please contact us.”

Anyone who has any information that may help to trace this man should contact Neston Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 quoting incident number 157 of August 23.

Information can also be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
