A GETAWAY car collided with a police vehicle during a chase.

This followed a break-in at a house in Stocks Lane, Boughton, about 5.20pm last Thursday.

The burglars made off in a silver Ford Fiesta but were pursued by police leading to a minor collision when the getaway vehicle reversed into a panda car on Hoole bridge.

The crooks abandoned the vehicle, registration number FL10 OZO, in Springfield Drive after colliding with a parked car.

Four men were seen to run through a garden on Woodlands Drive and onto the nearby cycle track in the direction of Kingsway. Police scrambled the helicopter to help with the search but to no avail.

Police would like to hear from witnesses including any taxi drivers who picked up four men in the area at that time.

Two are described as white, in their late teens or early twenties and slim with short hair. Another was also in his late teens or early twenties; a fourth man was older, probably in his forties with greying hair.

Stolen property was recovered from the car.
