Polce are appealing for witnesses following a knifepoint robbery in Northwich.

At about 7.45pm on Sunday (January 19), a 26-year-old man was walking along Malpas Road when he was approached by three men as he got close to Danefield Road.

The men punched and kicked him to the floor and of the offenders produced a knife to threaten the victim but did not attack him with it.

The three made off with £50.

The first man is described as white, 6ft tall in his early 20s and of slim build. He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers.

The second man is described as white, early 20s, 6ft tall, of slim build and has brown curly hair.

He was wearing a light grey hooded top and dark trousers.

The third is white, again in his early 20s and 6ft tall with a slim build. He had long hair coming over his face which appeared to be ginger. He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers.

DC Gary Morris said: “Although this was a shocking experience for the victim, thankfully he was not injured.

“This type of incident is rare in Northwich and we are making every effort to identify the offenders.

“In order to help us with our enquiries I would urge anyone with information to contact police."
