A SUSPECTED loan shark who allegedly sexually assaulted one of his victims and lent money to around 900 people in Runcorn and Widnes over a six year period is due to appear at Warrington Crown Court today (Monday, January 12).

Paul Nicholson, 41, of Golf Course Road, Delamere, is charged with sexual assault, 14 counts of blackmail, actual bodily harm, three counts of acquiring criminal property, illegal money lending and giving false information.

His partner Tracey Rogers, 38, of the same address, is charged with illegal money lending, making unwarranted demands of money with menaces and two counts contrary to the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The pair go on trial today. The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.
