Members of staff from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and volunteers have been honoured by the High Sheriff of Cheshire Bill Holroyd.

Employees Alex Waller, Steve Barnes, Mike Clark, James Wilmott (representing Macclesfield firefighters), Tam Blair (representing Congleton firefighters) and Steve Buckley and his search and rescue dog Bryn were amongst those presented with a High Sheriff award in recognition of valuable service to the community.

The reception was held at the High Sheriff’s residence in Abbots Moss Hall in Oakmere, Northwich on Thursday, March 17.

During the evening Mr Holroyd gave a brief overview on each person or voluntary group and why they deserved recognition before presenting them with a framed certificate.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service staff were awarded accolades for their work at a number of local incidents and also for their search efforts in Nepal following the earthquakes.
