OWNERS of unoccupied properties are being reminded to keep their heating on after two empty houses flooded due to frozen water pipes.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue service were called to Clare Avenue in Hoole on Saturday (December 4) at 12.30pm after neighbours spotted flooding in an empty house.
Chester fire crews had to call the police to break into the property in order to isolate the water and electricity supplies.
At around 2pm on the same day Chester fire crews were called to an empty house on Foxes Way in Higher Kinnerton again by neighbours who spotted flooding in an unoccupied property.
This time fire crews could isolate and the electricity and water supplies from the outside of the house and neighbours were able to contact the owners of the property.
Both properties were left with severe water damage due to the flooding.
