Her Majesty the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday last week in Windsor with a walkabout, lighting beacons and a family party in the evening.
And her Cheshire subjects were doing their bit to celebrate their sovereign’s special day.
Beacons were lit at Beeston and in Frodsham and one of the Queen’s favourite animals dressed to impress for the day.
Champion shire horse Moorfield Edward paraded in full regalia at the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre and Stud Farm to mark the special occasion.
Owner Janet King said: “We are lucky enough to have The Queen as the Patron of the Shire Horse Society so this was our way of honouring Her Majesty.
“At midday Edward was all dressed up for the Queen and paraded within [the] centre so visitors could join in the celebrations.
“We decked out Edward’s stable with Union Flags and bunting and visitors also had the opportunity to make their own crown in the Cotebrook café in time for the parade.”

Two Waverton women, Jan Rae and Pam Hughes, organised a tea party for the elderly held at Burley Hall.
The event was sponsored by Waverton fete commitee, Rainbow Slush and the milk and cream was supplied by Whittinghams.
A special Union Flag with the number ‘90’ at the centre of it flew from the tower of St Peter’s Church in Little Budworth to show the village’s tribute to Her Majesty.
