CHESHIRE brides are putting the county’s most famous product on the top table at the weddings.
Cheshire cheese makers are reporting a huge rise in sales as future wives are swapping traditional fruit cakes for tiered wheels of cheese.
Wedding cakes contain different varieties from white Cheshire to a more complex flavour blended with honey and figs.
Mark Walker, head chef at Cheshire’s Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa, said: “We’ve been inundated with requests.
“I think people love the link to the region and want to choose a cake that means something to them. They look fantastic and taste delicious.”
