Raising a glass has raised a generous donation to a great local cause following the popular Cheshire Beer Festival.

West Cheshire Foodbank has received £350 following the generous donations from beer drinkers at the recent event.

Unused beer vouchers were donated to this worthy cause by customers and the foodbank was chosen as the festival charity by the Cheshire branches of the Campaign for Real Ale who organised the event.

Several members of the Chester and South Clwyd branch went up to the charity’s warehouse and offices near Cheshire Oaks to learn about the good work being done there and to officially handover the cheque.

Development officer at West Cheshire Foodbank Alec Spencer said: “It’s awesome when people support us in this way. It makes a big difference.

“Thank you so much to all the members of the Cheshire branches of CAMRA for choosing to support West Cheshire Foodbank and to everyone at the Cheshire Beer festival for giving so generously.”
