GLAMOUR will combine with gardening at the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park (July 18-22) thanks to Tarvin-based couture designer Rijk Zeman.
Rijk has been invited to show some of his fabulous designs within two catwalk fashion shows on Ladies Day, Thursday July 19, in the Talk Theatre at 12.20pm and 2.40pm.
Rijk, who has lived and worked in the Netherlands, Suriname and South Africa, now has his own shop and studio in the high street at Tarvin, near Chester, having moved to the UK last summer.
He is a master in haute couture, and graduated from the Marja van Riel Academy in Rotterdam. He trained under leading couturier Frank Govers and among his clients are members of the Dutch royal family.
Rijk will be teaming up with one of Yorkshire’s up and coming milliners, Suzanne Gill, to present a number of dazzling outfits.
The Tarvin designer caters for clients looking for bespoke solutions to bridal wear and special occasion wear and works with only the best quality silks, lace and tweeds. He is soon to move to larger premises in Altrincham.
This is the second year that the RHS has included a Ladies Day within the overall five-day programme at Tatton Park.
Show Manager, Kris Hulewicz, said: “We are really thrilled and delighted that both Suzanne and Rijk can join us for Ladies Day and show off some of their amazing designs and creations. We want as many people as possible to come and enjoy the North’s greatest garden party, and by including glamorous fashion shows showcasing up and coming talent, we believe this will add to the overall experience.”
